The On the Outs Show is a podcast is about Reentry and things related to it. The show is intended to entertain and inform, to provide information to help people adjust to life after incarceration. Guests can talk about their program, their vision, and their opinions about things relating to incarceration and reentry.
At the core
The core of each show is the question, “What advice would you give someone who wants to be successful and change their life?” Peer
We have a number of guests lined up to be interviewed: a certified drug and alcohol counselor; a nonprofit Executive Director; a former prison inmate who now runs a mentoring program; the head of a nonprofit that helps children of people in prison; two stand up comics; and an author.
For some of our shows, we’re doing a roundtable format, with co-hosts and one or more guests. We’re going for an informal, conversational tone. There aren’t any scripted questions, per se, and nothing requiring prepared presentations. It’s just going to be a group of awesome people, from different backgrounds, talking about reentry and the challenges people in reentry face. We want our listeners to get to know us and our guests as people first.
There will be opportunities to talk about your programs, of course, we just want them to come up in an organic way in conversation. We’ll edit the audio — and video — afterward, so we can fix any glitches, bleep out any profanity, etc. (Uncensored versions of our shows will be available to our supporters.)
If you have experience working in a Reentry program (whether in a correctional setting or outside), if you have personal experience adjusting to life after incarceration, or if you just have advice for someone who’s making that adjustment, we want to hear from you! Contact us at email@example.com.
